The opening of the Festival
Guevara Tower
The Torre Guevara, also known as Michelangelo’s Tower, hosts the conference sessions of the Ischia and Naples International Philosophy Festival.
Two intense days that are shaped through two very important moments: the morning lectures at 9 a.m. dedicated to school groups and the general public, and the conference sessions featuring more than 120 speakers from around the world.
Conference sessions take place from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. They are open to the public and no reservations are needed.
Every half hour, the five rooms see alternating scholars presenting their views on the festival’s annual theme to the audience. Therefore, the lectures are different in nature: informative and technical at the same time. Again, the speakers are not only from the philosophical field, but also from the fields of literature, psychology, film, science and education. Lectures dedicated to schoolchildren begin at 9 a.m. and continue with specially designed workshops until 1 p.m.
Young Minds in Action
Young Thinkers Festival
In the afternoon, young people can follow the lectures thanks to the “Young Thinkers” session in which they are the stars.
To participate as a speaker in the “Young Thinkers Festival” just read the Call for Paper dedicated to this peculiar time of the event (see Young Thinkers Festival entry ).
